"What a year this week has been"
Updated: Mar 23, 2020
"What a year this week has been" rings so true. When this video was made (10th March 2020), no cases of COVID-19 had been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo; only a handful of countries had gone into social isolation; and most international flights were still departing as expected.
In the past 10 days, Satarla has stopped all face-to-face work and moved all training, consultancy and research online. Our timeline has looked like this:
11th March: Face to face workshops on site with a supply chain function in the Democratic Republic of Congo:

12th March: All consultancy goes online (here we see a safety focused risk workshop for a large acid plant being conducted from our London office to the client over video conference).

12th March: Harry Turner joins us for his talk: Risk through the eyes of an ocelot. Most attendees dial in through the weblink. Little did we know that his stories of being isolated in the Peruvian jungle would ring so true in only a matter of days...
16th March: Fully online - conversion of the London training centre into one of many online virtual-classroom studios in support of our virtual learning offering + ongoing online consultancy.

17th March: Revisit and add to our suite of tools to support individuals work online (e.g. interview with Satarla Associate Annie Clarke of anniestrainingcompany.com on 10 tips for online meetings).
19th March: Satarla-wide call to all Associates to explore how COVID-19 is impacting on individuals around the world and look for ways in which we can support one another, including hints and tips on business continuity for small businesses.

20th March: Virtual reality headsets, satellite driven analytics services and software advice ready to ramp up to the next level. Reaching out to clients to ascertain where we can support them in this uncertain time. Helping our partners move online through making our short videos and factsheets available to them.

So if that was last week..... what will this coming week bring?
