Mark Turner

Starting his career in the Royal Navy in 1989, Mark has held a variety of roles within the defence and aerospace sector including submarine weapons engineer, project planner, R&D Project Manager, Head of Internal Audit, and Vice President of Risk Management.  In recent years Mark has developed ERM Frameworks and designed Risk Management software. He has also created and delivered training to over 500 people on quantitative and qualitative risk management.

Mark is now the Managing Director of Emsity Ltd, a risk management software and training consultancy supporting several clients with software design and development projects.  

As the former Chairman of the IRM Innovation Special Interest Group, Mark will be touring the UK and Ireland during 2020 speaking on various topics including Future Risk Identification and Resilience.
 
Not content to manage risk, Mark is also a qualified Life Coach.  In this role he provides professional guidance, mentoring and external accountability to executives looking to enhance their careers.

In the little spare time he has, Mark is the treasurer for his local Scout group and is also a STEM ambassador providing informative engagement with young people to encourage them into technical careers.
